Our Background

How We Got Here

The team has been through many guises over the years and formally settled down in 2018 when SCR entered the first year of the SRK championship. A strong showing throughout the season led to skipper, Zack Swannell, taking the title. The team is formulated from circuit tutors and marshals spun out from Castle Combe kart circuit where the team all met, honed their abilities and spent over one and a half decades teaching young prospects, many of whom have moved on to bigger and better things including British karting champions, Ginetta, F4 and Le Mans racers.

The team lay low through the Covid years returning to the SRK championship in 2022 with renewed force, more drivers and a junior team, with a view to imparting the knowledge gained through our various careers which consist of over 70 years of racing in the A team alone. SCR have taken care to foster a reassuring and supportive, yet driven environment for young drivers to thrive and network. This was proven at the climax of 2023 where the team won both adult and junior SRK driver championships. 

The team takes care to encourage all avenues of motorsport with champions and participants from the VAG trophy and the BMW compact cup through to owner karting such as Daniel Ricciardo Series and MSA. Currently the focus lies in entry level of rental karting as this is where we can affect the most change and add the most value to the next generation of talent.  

In conclusion, we're a set of driven individuals who have bonded over our shared passion for motorsport, teaching and of course winning. From here the team was born.
